what inspires you?

First and foremost we get a lot of inspiration from Michael Jordan and the hard work and dedication that he put into his game and the shoes he wore. We also get inspiration from our website readers and our Twitter followers. We keep our ear low to the ground and pay attention to what the real sneakerheads want, and we try to deliver accordingly.

We’ve worked with sneakerheads from all over the world. We’ve also done some collabs with primo sneaker boutiques like Oqium.com, and we’ve also featured the work of famous photographers like Barbie-Bibiana.

5. what gives you your passion to do what you do??

I’ve been a fan of Michael Jordan since the late 80s. Growing up in a low-income family, I always envied the other kids that had Jordans, but we could never afford them. In a way I’m thankful for that now, otherwise I don’t think I’d appreciate the sneakers as much as I do. It took me almost a year to save up for my first pair, but when I copped the OG Bordeauxs and rocked them for the first time, it was all worth it.

6. what advice would you give to someone trying to do something in your field?

There’s a lot of “copy cat” websites that are trying to do what we do, but they seem to fail to execute on so many levels. Our best advice is to really get to know what your readers want, and provide content in a fresh manner that isn’t already being done.

7. how did you get to where you are now?

JordanDepot.com started out as a hobby a handful of years ago, but nowadays it is seen in over 150 countries around the world each month,. Currently we have over 51,000 Twitter followers and that continues to grow exponentially... The website has become a reputable sneaker blog with the latest information about upcoming Air Jordan releases, news about Michael Jordan, images of celebrities who wear Jordan Brand, and it's even being referenced by NBC News. ...i got here right in this spot by kinda doing what i want just to be honest, and im sooo happy, yes i went to school walked across the stage with an Associates Degree in hand and basically right into Atlanta. Been to alot of networking events and putting alot of me meeting the city time in, i was and still am focused on making my Canon take me where i want to go, say what i cant. Ive been out here for almost a year, and yes...i do ,love ATL, of course i got the West coast in my blood and NY in my heart but theres defiantly room for Atlanta.

What inspires you?

With fashion, I mostly use my environment and anything I happen to come across to inspire me. What I mean by that, is that I don’t look to only fashion magazines or fashion shows for inspiration...you’d be surprised what you come across when you’re not really looking. Wherever you are, you should take it all in and search for the art or purpose in what’s happening. In general, I am inspired by the drive of others around me, and that motivates me to step my game up even more, whether it be in fashion or otherwise

Who have you worked with?

I have been blessed enough to have done a photoshoot with and walked the runway for Reco Chapple of ‘The Fashion Show’ and I’ve also walked for Johnathan Kayne of ‘Project Runway’ and I’ve also walked for celebrity stylist Jason Bolin. And I can’t forget to mention the many wonderful local artists including photographers, stylists, makeup artists, models, designers, and hairstylists I have had the pleasure of working with right here in Nashville....definitely some of the best in their fields!

What are some future projects you’re working on?

Well, with my company Fashion Bytes, Inc., we are working on various new technologies to offer the fashion industry. At the moment, we are bringing other brands into the Fashion Bytes family to work alongside Nashville Fashion Events & Style Promenade to become an even larger force in the fashion community here. One thing in particular that is a new service we are developing is called WallSee. Twitter mentions, using hashtags and keywords, bring all the pictures connected with those words to one site. It will be used for marketing and social media.

what gives you your passion to do what you do?? I love to be a connector. After I began pursuing modeling in 2007 I did a lot of networking and in that I started seeing a lack of resources for those here in Nashville in the fashion industry...a place where they could go to get information on who to network with and what was going on. So my boyfriend created the website so I could easily spread the word and the rest is history...

what advice would you give to someone trying to do something in your field?

NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK!!! It is key to your success. Get to know all the models, hairstylists, makeup artists, photographers, boutique owner/employees, stylists, designers that you can in your area.

how did you get to where you are now?

By networking and being nice. You will have to go to all the castings, shows, mixers, etc. to be immersed in the world you want to be apart of. You should be at as many of the events as possible so that you meet as many people as possible. Being in the right place at the right time makes all the difference. The more people you meet, the more you connect, and it betters your chance of connecting with at least one person that can aide you in your journey to success.

I am inspired by everything from colors to weather to fabric to smiles. I am a sucker for emotions and I feed off of them, so if ou see my work, you get my mood from there. what inspires you?-

I get inspired by the most random things. I can be driving, and see something on the side of the road the will give me an idea. Just talking, and joking with a person can inspire me. You’d be surprised if you knew how I got some of my inspirations.

who have you worked with?

I have worked with tons of models, from Nashville, as well as models from around the US. Published models, as well as inspiring models. I have worked with artists, local and major. An amazing team of stylist, MUA’s, and other photographers.

what are some future projects your working on?

Future projects that I will be working on. There are some events coming up, where I will be photographing and doing videography as well. Tons of photo shoots, look books, as well as video shoots. Also some magazine projects. I plan on doing a lot of traveling in the upcoming months as well.

what gives you your passion to do what you do??

what advice would you give to someone trying to do something in your field?

I would tell them to work, work, work!! Its not easy, but if you put the time and dedication into it. You’ll get positive results every time. You’ll be surprised at how fast you grow.

how did you get to where you are now?

I studied like crazy! Worked hard, hit a lot of bumps in the road, but who doesn’t. I knew this was what I wanted to do, so I put everything aside and made this my main focus. Its paying off slowly but surely.

3. What is some future projects your working on?

Just trying to make Urban Kompass TV better everyday we have a brand new studio and were working on the website and taking are time with it because we want to make it Hot for our fans, we don’t want to let them down!

5. What gives you your passion to do what you do??

The passion I get comes from my Mom, she makes sure I’m driven and on the right road everyday, trust me she will not let me forget where I come from and where I need to be. The passion also comes when I see the smile on the clients face, some people do it for the money, that’s nice and all but the simple things makes my world.

6. What advice would you give to someone trying to do something in your field?

The only advice I can give right now in my life is keep a strong team and make sure they are in it as much as you are. Keep them close, stay focus, don’t stop, keep going to the next big thing.

7. How did you get to where you are now?

I really don’t think I made it anywhere yet, but I had a strong team. I knew I couldn’t do it on my own. My family keeps me down to earth. I think you need that.

One man's trash is another man's fashion fiesta. You can find GREAT things at little cost at your local thrift store. They may have some things that you can actually bring back in style. I wouldn't necessarily buy shoes from the thrift store... << Instead of shopping at high end stores to get the latest fashion, try stores that have the same items at a lesser value. They still have the same effect on the industry.

Ripped Jeans

I'm assuming that "ripped jeans" are in style!

You can buy this look from different stores such as Macy's, American Eagle, Forever 21, etc.

you can save your little coins and create them yourself!

here's a few item you may need:

- an old pair of jeans that you wouldn't mind ripping up

- scissors

- pumice stone

- utility knife

- wood file

- grater

- small, flat block of wood

- ruler

- pen or pencil

1. first, you draw a cutting line or pattern on your jeans with a pencil or pen

2. place a block of wood inside the pant leg beneath the area

3. rub and scrape the fabric in several different directions ( use sandpaper, a pumice stone, wood file and grater. these will fray the fabric )

4. Loosen fibers by scraping with the blade of the utility knife

5. Using the scissors, cut a hole through the loosened fibers

6. Retain all of the loose fibers

7. Bleach parts of the jeans for that extra destroyed look!

These simple directions will save you alot of money and give you a fashion plus!
